USAID Rules & Regulations Workshop

The plethora of rules and regulations associated with the management of government grants and cooperative agreements is a source of regular and continuing frustration to those on the receiving end. This workshop will give participants a good sense of the issues they confront when dealing with the USAID. Our emphasis will be on AID funding for grants and cooperative agreements, but the workshop should be worthwhile for organizations receiving funding from other federal agencies as well. This workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to update agencies on what is happening with the key OMB Circulars affecting PVOs and NGOs. Participants will be encouraged to raise problems they are having and to ask questions that will help them clarify their thinking. Contracts Overview for NGOs

This one-day overview workshop will give participants an awareness of the issues in dealing with Federal Government contracting. Our emphasis will be on USAID contracts, but the workshop will be just as useful and relevant to organizations receiving contracts from other federal agencies. The emphasis of the workshop is on the administration of contracts, after negotiation and award. At the end of the workshop, the participants will know the differences between contracts and grants and will have a broad understanding of the applicable rules and regulations, especially significant areas of audit risk.

USAID Award Management - Contracts and Cooperative Agreements Workshop

USAID awards primarily contracts, grants and cooperative agreements. Many NGOs are now implementing contracts in addition to cooperative agreements and grants. While some of the rules and regulations are the same, you must know the important differences. What are the major differences between contracts and cooperative agreements? How do I manage our existing polices and practices when a contract imposes additional constraints? Are costs treated differently between contracts and cooperative agreements? How can I avoid disallowances? When must I seek approval under cooperative agreements? Under contracts?

This workshop will provide a detailed review of the administrative requirements of USAID contracts, grants and cooperative agreements. For more information or to register, go to http://www.InsideNGO.org/workshops.htm.
